On the DBS Superleggera

I’m s till mixed. I’m noticing a trend in European sports cars I’m disliking now. Using tailights and light bars to accentuate the width of a vehicle which s fine. But all the black plastic cladding for a diffuser and whatnot that makes the rear taller than it actually is. I hate that, and dislike that it’s on the 992 now. The front isn’t that bad but if it had a DB10/11 esque front end it’d be perfect.

I like it. Also the 992 is amazing IMO. I love every angle on it. The DBS is nice enough looking. It does look a bit Ferrari ish somehow to me which is a turn off though. To be fair Im not a big fan of Aston martin design though.

The huge, gaping maw is a bit of a turnoff, but I generally like it.

I’m not really surprised honestly. I imagine it may end up having an effect similar to that of the 996, in which it  may be rather polarizing for fans. It seems rather obtuse of me but I think it look more like and older 911 somehow.

The 996 I wholeheartedly like. The pre-facelift more than the post-facelift. This.....There’s good and bad, and some that just doesn’t work for me....The rear is the biggest problem.

Is i t the best looking modern Aston ever? No, but it’s FOR SURE the best looking ‘normal’ (aka excluding the Zagatos) Aston currently in production.

I’ve said it before but to me it’s still true so, ever since the DB9 ( and the DBS built off of that) every Aston Martin has looked “off” to me.

At first glance I thought it was a cross between a Corvette and a Camaro which is not a good look when you’re asking six figures. Lots of muscle but little elegance. Pass.
